Dake's Dog House

A puppy is like a lump of clay waiting to be formed. Even the most subtle gestures or attitudes can guide the young dog into desirable or undesirable patterns of behavior. It is easier to teach a puppy good habits than to erase bad habits in a mature dog.

Most dogs in animal shelters are there because of failed house breaking, destructive chewing, nuisance barking or aggression. Start NOW to ensure that your puppy grows into a socialized, enjoyable, and obedient member of your pack.
Dake Cassen has trained professionally since 1980, including seventy breeds, and
over a thousand dogs in the Roanoke valley. He has trained dogs for TV commercials,
been featured in The Roanoke Times, given behavioral seminars for the
R.V.S.P.C.A., and has been interviewed by local TV for insight on canine
happenings. A public speaker, lecturer, and published writer on dog
behavior and training, he is recommended by area veterinarians.

We believe he will help you and your pet enjoy a much happier life together. If you would like more information, or would like to sign up for obedience classes, please call us at Valley Animal Hospital. Our number is 366-3433. If you have a specific behavioral problem and you need special and immediate help, give Dake a call at Dake's Dog House. His number is 265-0329, and the Dog House is located on Peter's Creek Road.
The following pictures were taken during several sessions of our first obedience class of 2000. You can see the difference these classes make in the lives of these pets and their owners!
Obedience Class - Week 1

"Hey, does anyone know what this guy keeps going on about? Yada, yada, yada...I've got places to go and people to see! Who needs all of this heel, sit and stay stuff?"
Obedience Class - Week 2

"But Mom, the Dalmatian isn't paying attention either! I'm not the only one!"
Obedience Class - Week 3

"Look what I've learned to do...I think Dake is a good teacher!"
Obedience Class - Week 6

As graduation day approached, each dog was eager to show how they could "sit-stay" when asked by their favorite human.
Thank you Dake for making a difference in so many lives!
