We loved watching Tandy on the webcam last night and this morning after her spay surgery yesterday. It was very reassuring to see her resting and then looking around. We slept better and the children were reassured that she was ok before having to go to school today. She's doing great!

Dear Dr. Poage & Denise, We just wanted to thank you so much for your excellent care and attention given to my sister's (Marilyn & Wes Myers) kitty, Sam-Buddy, who was hit by a car Sept. 22, 2004. With the broken jaw, fractured skull, detached retina, ripped sinuses, and numerous wounds on his hind side, we feared the worst. However, all Praises to Jesus, and your staff, Sam's continued healing is nothing short of a miracle. We not out of the woods yet, but when we see his improvement virtually every day, our hope is renewed. Sam was washing his little face this morning, which may not sound like an amazing feat, but given what he's been through, it's just another miracle to rejoice over. We continue to stay in touch with our friends, Dr's. Marcos and Amy Nugent-Haase. We miss them so much. Thanks again, Sam-Buddy sends his love to you all. P.S. : Tim and I will continue to trust you with our pet's care, all 8 cats and 2 dogs, in addition to my sister's 5 cats. And we'll still refer you to all family and friends. oxoxo

Dear Dr. Bill and Denise, We just visited your site again, which we love. This time per your suggestion, to go to the FYI site to learn about GME, the illness that took our precious greyhound Taffy. Our reason in writing, is to thank you for your urgent care of Taffy as we didn't know what could be so wrong. The Virginia Tech staff was terrific, but hearing your kind words and explainations of terms that seemed so complicated meant the world to us. Denise, your beautiful expressions of sympathy touched all of us and meant so much to our family as we continued to grieve the loss of Tabitha just 7 weeks before we lost Taffy. None of our family or friends could understand our grief, but you did. Dr. Poage, you have treated every animal I have had the honor of loving and caring for and you will continue to be the one we bring our 4 legged babies to. The two of you and your staff make an amazing team. Your skill is impeccable, your personal attention to not just our pet, but to our family is beyond reproach. We just picked up our little Maltese, Rolex (he's a WATCH dog...) after having him taken care of at VAH for the last week. "Rolie" is over 12 years old and has a bad back, as well as diabetes-caused cataracts. We were concerned about his care while we attended a convention in Florida. We worried needlessly. When we returned on March 31st, Rolie looked as though he'd been the one who'd had a vacation! The staff at VAH talked endlessly about how much fun they'd had with him, and we were very pleased at hearing how they'd taken the time to play with him and meet his needs. Kudos and deepest gratitude to one and all at VAH!

I'm seeking help! We've lost one of our precious family members. Bella Jasmyn(BJ) dissappeared Wednesday, March 10, 2004..We have looked everywhere for her, including the pound and have put out flyers and lost pets in the paper. There is a flyer at several area Vet's offices, including Valley Animal Hospital. Bella is 11 months old, white short hair cat, with grayish black markings on top of her head and a little on her tail. The spot on her head looks like a "hairpeice". Hendrix is my dog too. I'm his daddy and chrisso is his mommy. His mommy forgets Vital! information sometimes. But we forgive her.

I am SOO happy. My Basset Hound, Hendrix, went in today to be neutered - I was so thankful when I found out that they have a webcam at VAH so I could watch the procedure AND watch him all night long ( and oh how long this night is going to be :) ) just to be sure that Mommy's little baby is doing okay. The VAH staff (namely Dawn) were so patient, and helpful and best of all.. understanding. I just wanted to say I stumbled upon your facility because my little Leeto was in need of an emergency vet visit, and Dr. Stewart was the vet on call. I am so happy I found you. Many other Sugar Glider owners don't have the luxury of having a wonderful vet like Dr. Stewart near by, and boy I don't know what I would do without the help he has provided for my little guy! We are still heart broken, but the kindness and love you all gave to "Miss Doll" were more comforting than words can express. Thanks for calling and leaving the message asking about our doxie pup "Schnitzel". He did very well after the second set of shots from Dr. Poage Monday and is his usual playful self. ¡Hola mis amigos! Just wanted to send a little note from Chile, and let you all know we are having a great time. Everything is so beautiful, and its really nice to enjoy summer again. We are setting out for a white water rafting exploration in 10 minutes- a grade 5 rapid! We just want to thank Dr. Poage and the staff for their help with Jake, our golden retriever, we just had to "put to sleep". Your concern was appreciated and my husband said you all showed such sympathy when he came to the clinic 2 weeks ago with Jake so bad. We do appreciate all you do and a special thanks to Dr. Poage. Jake is our first pet Dr. Poage had to "put to sleep" for us because of illness. We've had 2 other pets "put to sleep" because of old age. Each one Dr. Poage has shown such care and concern both for the pet and what we were going through...once again, thank you for all you do.

We're Wesley Bell's grandparents (see August gallery), and in our completely unbiased opinion he is the cutest puppy in all of the commonwealth of Virginia. His parents are pretty sweet, too. They give him lots of special care, and he never wants for anything.

Hey everyone, it's me!!! I was surfing the web between classes and remembered that VAH had a homepage, I went to check it out and waaa-laaa, there she was. Things are going very well down here in the humid, hot state of GA, temperatures average about mid to upper 70's with a few weeks in the 80's (and one sat in the 90's). How's Miss Judy doing? Tell her, and Friendly I said hello. [Note to Dr. Stewart: I had to change my tarantula's name, it was Princess, but after her last molt, she surprised me, now her name is Prince! I have been bringing my cats to your hospital for many years now. Dr. Ayers has always been our vet and we have always appreciated the time and care that he always takes with our cats. We now have a year old cat named, "BlueEyes". When we had to bring him in for his annual visit and shots several months ago, we had an appointment with Dr. Poage. At first I didn't like the idea of seeing a different vet after seeing Dr. Ayers for so many years. But I am glad to say that Dr. Poage was just as caring and just as friendly as could be. I am really excited about the new addition to the hospital. Can't wait until the Open House to see all the new things.

He never did walk right and had a permanent head tilt, but he enjoyed life and actually bossed the other cats around! Unfortunately, our latest canine addition to the family, Chevy (named for the car that hit him, my Suburban), got too rough when playing with him and things went down hill from there. We will miss him, but we are glad that he had 5 good years with our family. Hope you all are doing well and thanks for thinking of us.
